In our opinion, family life today is best described as “on-demand”. Every generation deals with a change in the world that suddenly starts sounding like “In my day…”. Our family fits that bill to it’s benefit and at times detriment. Our kids specify not only what cartoon they want to watch, but the actual episode they would like! “In my day, we only watched cartoons on Saturday morning!” I try to explain, but it’s far easier to let them watch the storm episode from Daniel Tiger. C’est La Vie…
Mom and dad also embrace the on-demand life, and have probably become some secret tier of Amazon.com buyer just due to the sheer volume of what is ordered through their Prime service. It’s a blessing and a curse, but mostly blessing. Not having to run down to the store every other day to grab a small essential is a god send, and allows us to manage the 3-ring circus that is our household far more effectively.
What you won’t see on this site are products that we don’t use or recommend. We avoid ‘shame-reviews’ for things that didn’t work out. There are a few instances where a product saved us from another one that broke, and we may highlight that in some reviews, but we try to focus only on the things that work well and do the job that we were looking for. We also like to tell the story behind why we needed it and how it addressed our concerns, in case it proves useful to families and folks in similar situations.
We do post affiliate links in our reviews, and we earn a small commission on purchases that are made through those links. We do this to provide convenience to our readers and ensure that they are going to the specific product we own and are reviewing (knock-offs abound in the online retail space). It also tells us that you enjoy the content we provide, without costing you anything to do so!
